CLEAR ANSWERS
How U-Tender works
Find opportunities, understand the source, and manage your account.
Finding a tender
Latest tenders is open to everyone. Search by keyword, reference or buyer, then narrow results by province, category or closing date. Expand a province group, or switch to a paginated list.
Where does the information come from?
The catalogue uses the existing National Treasury eTenders integration. U-Tender is an independent service, not a government portal. Records and documents depend on what the source publishes and on the source service being available.
Are these all available opportunities?
The directory shows records returned by the current eTenders integration. It is not a guarantee of every opportunity advertised in South Africa. Always check the buyer’s official documents for eligibility, amendments, submission instructions and the final closing date.
What does “National / not specified” mean?
The record does not identify one of the nine provinces. Check its location and delivery requirements in the official documents.
How are dates displayed?
Dates and times are shown in South African Standard Time (SAST). A record without a closing date is labelled “Not stated”.
Accounts, alerts and pricing
When will I receive an alert?
No delivery date is confirmed. The current website does not send automated matched-tender notifications. Your saved preferences remain available in My company.
How does billing work?
After creating and verifying your account, open My company → Subscription & billing. PayFast takes the first R199.99 payment after you approve checkout, then renews monthly at R199.99 until cancellation. The website confirms payment only after server verification. Cancel automatic renewal in the same section. If payment was taken but the status is pending, refresh the status rather than paying again. Purchasing membership does not activate the notification service while it remains in development.
Do I need CIDB registration?
Not every industry or tender requires it. Only enter CIDB information if your business is registered, and verify any requirements in the particular tender documents.
Can I change my company preferences?
Yes. Log in, open My company, make your changes and select Save changes. If part of a save fails, the page explains which section needs another attempt.
Can I reset my password?
Use Forgot your password on the login page. The reset email comes from the existing sign-in service. Check your spam folder too.
If something goes wrong
A tender may have closed or the official source may be temporarily unavailable. Use Retry on the page, or search the official portal using the tender reference. A failed load is shown as an error, not as an empty catalogue.
